Labor Pains
March 20th, 2008Nutrition has the upper hand on every issue in the body. Labor pains may not be considered an issue until you see how the body was designed to manage them. First I should say that common sense should be used because I have no idea what the potential is, i am pulling from two distinct cases specifically my wife and her best friend.
The answer is Magnesium. Like all my other suggestions this must be the correct size. Watch this video if you have not yet to understand this. Magnesium is the muscle relaxing, anti stress mineral. I has many other uses also… Taking a few Table spoons of Naturally Ionized, Water Soluble, Angstrom Sized Magnesium relaxes the muscles that stretch causing the pain before and after giving birth. We have not ‘tested’ this enough to know what happens during birth, but let me explain what we have seen happen.
My wife has now had our last two children 4-5 weeks early. David (4 now) was 5 weeks and very small and we had extreme difficulties teaching him to breast feed… If you don’t know how this goes simply understand it was very difficult. Our youngest child Elisabeth (10months) was 4 weeks early. However, we did something different with her. The last 4 Months of the pregnancy we started using The Body Foundation. There were not really many changes in the baby but mom did much better with more energy and was able to do more around the house. As the due date approached mom started having contractions just like with David and the doctor told us to hold on as long as we could. He didn’t tell us to do anything so we started using magnesium to relax the contractions. It worked well for about 1 week. Still 4 weeks early Elisabeth was born. We were concerned about ‘messing with the process’ so we did not try as hard as we could have with Magnesium to relax the contractions the last few days…
One week is not great but lets consider Elisabeth’s condition at birth. She had what i call full hand, feet and muscle motion. Less than 5 minutes after birth she ate from mom for 1hour without a break. She had her eyes open looking around and moving her hands as if to touch already. All at 4 weeks early. This is pretty good with the understanding the expectations by the doctors of a premature baby… She was not determined to be premature.
Mom did not take any pain medications after the birth what so ever. The Body Foundation Product was taken as normal and Magnesium was taken to relax the muscles. Mom was ready to leave the hospital 8 hours after birth… walking around and ready to go. (dumb 24hour rule after giving birth)
The best place I see its use is for post labor pain. Magnesium relaxes the muscles so they can move back into place. This is where my wifes girlfriend used it with great success. She did not have an epidural and no medication after the pregnancy. She simply took some Magnesium several times following the birth.
Magnesium is required for many functions of the body. Women in general are extremely deficient in Magnesium. I will write more about specific minerals but understand you will not get too much. The way to know if you have taken too much is to watch the bowels. If they become extremely loose then you know you have taken more than the body needed. I garrentee unless you take extreme amounts every day for several days you will not reach this limit. The bowels will become loose for other reasons if you are not taking Magnesium so don’t think you currently have enough without supplementing.
